Delivered 30 September 1959 operated by the Air Fighting Development Squadron Placed into storage at Shawbury in February 1963, declared a non effective airframe 7 February 1964 and allocated 7834M assigned to 9 SoTT at RAF Newton for Ground Instruction. 7755M (WG760) arrived at Henlow from 4 SoTT at St Athan in November 1966 and was displayed, wearing the colours of the AFDS (Air Fighting Development Squadron), outside the Officer Cadet Training Unit for several years along with the other P.1A, WG763. Both were relocated in the early 1980s to protect them from further weather related deterioration. WG760 moved to Binbrook in July 1982 for restoration before moving to the Aerospace Museum at RAF Cosford.
