This strange machine known as the RTAF-5 was a Thai training and forward air control aircraft developed and built by the Science & Weapon Systems Development Centre of the Royal Thai Air Force in the 1980s. Like a scaled-down OV-10 Bronco, it had a twin boom configuration and was powered by a single pusher turboprop engine, but only a single example was built, first flying in 1984

The BAe 146STA (Sideloading Tactical Airlifter) was intended as a military transport based on the 146QT cargo aircraft, with the same left rear cargo door. This demonstrator, fitted with a dummy refuelling probe and an air-openable paratroop door, was the second 146 to be built (G-SSHH). Despite extensive demonstration tours but there were no orders. The aircraft eventually went to National Jet in Australia as VH-NJV
