Recently seen at Detroit-Willow Run MI (in March 2021), this aircraft was never converted into a -73 version, and it served as a freighter with Murray Air / National Airlines as N865F until 2012. Much earlier, Austrian Airlines used the DC-8 for about one year only - obviously no economical success in the Austrian fleet.

One of those was lost after a bomb explosion near Zurich, the rest of the fleet was withdrawn in 1974. Two were scrapped (including HB-ICF), four were sold to Spantax, and one was transferred to the Verkehrshaus at Luzern, where it has been displayed ever since.
