A Pratt & Whitney powered DST-A delivered to United Airlines ac NC25620 in 1940, this DC-3 was impressed into USAAF service in 1942 as C-48B 42-38326. Returned to United in 1944, the aircraft was sold to Ford Motor Company as N301K in 1949. Flown by the auto maker until 1967, it came to Canada as CF-VQV. Operating the aircraft from 1970, Arctic Outpost Camps withdrew it in 1975 and it's pictured stored at Edmonton. The airframe was later moved to Red Deer, AB where it remains stored.

Acquired by Rhoades 1978 and remained in service until at least 1995, withdrawn Columbus, IN by 2000. Used by airport for ARFF training from about 2014, flipped on its back 21 May 2022 by high winds.

In an effort to remove from Australia aircraft that could threaten the two-airline policy, the federal government bought the DC-3s owned by the failed operator Jetair. The aircraft were then given way as aid. VH-EQB went to Laos. The two-airline policy was finally abolished in 1990. Neither of the two airlines protected by the policy survived beyond 2001. Operated by Aero Heritage Museum. Later registered N47TB to the American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum and participated in the 75th D-Day Anniversary in 2019.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-93251 in 1944. To F-BAXG in 1946 then to CNET as F-SEBD in 1964. Allocated as F-BLOZ in 1981 but not taken up. Preserved at La Ferté-Alais from 1986.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-93190 in 1944. Sold as N4731S in 1962 To OB-R-811 in 1966 and stored at Miami. Back to N4731S in 1969 and converted to a DC-3C in 1971. To N902VC in 1986 and Aervenca as YV-670C in 1990.

Delilvered to the USAF as 42-93202 then transferred to the RCAF as 968 in 1944. Reserialled as 12952 in 1970. To C-GXAV in 1973, C-GCTE in 1980, N7164E in 1990, EC-659 then EC-FIN in 1991 and N47FL in 1995. Still current on the register in 2021.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-93168 in 1944. To NC41398 in 1946, XB-JIN in 1948, XB-BIN in 1954 and N90830 in 1973. Preserved as Kalamazoo Air History Museum, MI as 293168 from 1994.

Built for the USAAF as C-47A 42-93131 and transferred to the US Navy as R4D-5 17198 in 1944. Redesignated as a C-47H in 1962. To the Chilean Navy as 121 in 1969. Preserved at Quelpie by 1978 then to Vina del Mar by 1997.

Built for the USAAF as C-47A 42-93127 and transferred to the US Navy as R4D-5 17193 in 1944. To N6517C in 1959. Redesignated as a C-47H in 1962. Reregistered as N55 in1966, N67 in 1973 and to the US Department of Agriculture as N226GB in 1978. Preserved at South Dakota Air and Space Museum from 1987.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-93108 in 1944. To NC41407 then to Canadian Pacific as CF-CUE in 1947. To the Department of Transport in 1956. Reregistered as C-FCUE in 1975. To Buffalo Airways in 1992. Still in Department of Transport colours. Melville Gerald "Skipper" Bryan lived to fly. He flew just about any and all aircraft but the Dakota in particular CF-CUE was revered by him. He had 10,000 flying hours on this aircraft alone over his 50 years of service in the RCAF and subsequently the Ministry of Transportation. Sadly the name was lost when the aircraft was repainted into Buffalo colours.

Delivered to the UAAF as 42-93096 in 1944. To Aero O/Y/Finnair as OH-LCE in 1947 then to the Finnish Air Force as DO-12 in 1970. Used in the film A Bridge Too Far marked as 314013 in 1976. To SE-IOK in 1984 and N58NA in 1985. Preserved at the National World War II Museum at New Orleans, LA from 2006.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-93089 in 1944. To Honduras as FAH 304 in 1962. Reported as still in service in 2002. Dumped in the long grass with its serial removed.

K25 Slide scan. Built 1944 as 43-15275 for USAF. Civilanized as sprayer N842M for Lee County Health Unit at Ft.Myers in 1967. Collier County Mosquito Control 1977 reregistered N842MB 1978. Jim Hankins Air Service February 2000. # 2 engine caught fire and separated from the aircraft on a cargo flight from Panama City, FL to Albany, GA 15 March 2001. Managed to perform an emergency landing at Donalsonville, GA but written off.

In open store at the time slowly being restored with rather unusual prop spinners...

Last known to have been in use as a restaurant at the West Lakes Shopping Centre this C-47 was sold to Jeff Morgan in 2000. He moved the aircraft to his home near Karoonda where he began to restore the Douglas to its former glory.
