Briefly registered as C-FAXD in early 1988 for maintenance/certification purposes. Re-engined with PZL1000 engine and continued to operate with 40 Mile air until sold to Alaska Air Taxi in October 2003. Sold to Katmai Air Leasing in April 2008 and converted to a 'Texas Turbine' Otter with a Series 12 Garret TPE331 before being leased back to Alaska Airways until December 2019, when it joined the Katmai Air fleet.

It was replaced by a Turbo Beaver in 1967 and moved to flying passengers and freight. In 1970, EPA sold their bush division to Labrador Airways, but CF-MIT was acquired by Austin Airways. The aircraft was entoute to Timmins, ON on September 4, 1976 when weather deteriorated. It hit power lines flying up the Abitibi River near the Abitibi Canyon Dam. All on board died in the post impact fire and the aircraft burned.
