The Bee Gyroplane was an Australian design with a McCullough engine. ZK-HAS was reregistered ZK-RAA in 1974. Still registered, it no longer bears any resemblance to the original design. Little known about Bee Gyroplanes. There was one at the now closed AirWorld museum at Wangaratta, Australia in 1991. It was open framed - no fuselage pod - in the style of a Bensen B-8M. With no Australian requirement to register this class of autogyro none appeared on the register. Not known how many were built but it was at least three. Photo from: State Library of New South Wales

The dawn of air travel. On 19 August 1919, Aircraft Transport & Travel (AT&T) inaugurated the world's first scheduled international air service. On that day, sister ship G-EAJC arrived at Le Bourget from Hounslow Heath aerodrome, near Heathrow, carrying one passenger, a consignment of leather, several grouse and some jars of Devonshire cream. G-EAJD is ex F2704 and the overpainted serial is still visible on the rudder. Photo from: Bibliothèque nationale de France - Gallica

The first photo to surface to show, even partially, the Department of Civil Aviation's C-47 VH-ABC. It was discovered in a New Zealand public collection. VH-ABC was registered in August 1949 and reregistered VH-CAQ in September 1950. It crashed at Camden, NSW on March 27, 1951. Photos of it as VH-CAQ before and after the accident do exist.
