Most of the 35 Turbo Firecats were converted by Conair from ex-RCN Trackers, but this one was originally USN S-2A (S2F-1) Bu 136712. Registered C-GYQY by Conair as a Firecat (previously used on a Bristol Freighter) and delivered to the French Protection Civile at Marseille as F-WEOL. Returned for conversion to Turbo in 1993. Undoubted star of RAF Northolt Charity Night-shoot XIV was this 48 year-old Sabreliner from Malmen AB, Linköping. Used as a testbed for electronics including ultra-wideband ground surveillance synthetic aperture radar, it usually carries long probes, removed for flights over FL22. Acquired in 1980 and only flown for around 20 hrs p/a, a rare appearance indeed outside Sweden, a 6-stop trip to Thailand being one of few other foreign flights. A sister-ship (86002) was retired in 2005, now a ground trainer

The A&AEE Britannia graces Northolt's apron on a fine summer's day. She started her working life just down the road with BOAC as G-AOVM in 6.58 and ended it as 9Q-CHY in Zaire where she arrived in 1984. Here she later took the honour of being the world's last operating Brit (apart from 9Q-CJH ex-RAF XM496 now preserved at Kemble, after being flown in during October 1997) till withdrawal in 1991 and eventual scrapping at Kinshasa

This privately-owned Strikemaster is one of 16 which were delivered to the R Singapore AF in 1970, serving till 1983. It first arrived back in the UK in 1994 as G-SARK and is seen here resplendent in its original livery featuring the first-generation RSAF roundel which is the same as that used by Turkey and Peru

Now rather appropriately registered, this Bell 47 was originally G-AXKU with Bristow when new in 1969. Fancy a ride in one of those medevac baskets? Scary!
