An unusual visitor at Eindhoven. This aircraft dates back to around 1965 and was taken on strength by the Swedish Air Force in 1981.

Registered as N6556C then N757R in 1965, N905K in 1971, N905KB and to the Swedish Air Force as 86001 in 1982.

Undoubted star of RAF Northolt Charity Night-shoot XIV was this 48 year-old Sabreliner from Malmen AB, Linköping. Used as a testbed for electronics including ultra-wideband ground surveillance synthetic aperture radar, it usually carries long probes, removed for flights over FL22. Acquired in 1980 and only flown for around 20 hrs p/a, a rare appearance indeed outside Sweden, a 6-stop trip to Thailand being one of few other foreign flights. A sister-ship (86002) was retired in 2005, now a ground trainer

The two Swedish AF Sabreliners are rarely seen in public and are used for experimental MAD-type work. The extremely long parallel probes fitted at the front pose a bit of a question to photographers - whether to include or not, a bit like helicopter rotors! I shot it both ways, but this version gives a better view of the aircraft itself
