On 9 June 1938, this Gloster Gladiator was delivered to the Swedish Air Force. It was dubbed J8 in the Swedish Air Force. It had different markings over the course of its career and served in the Finnish Winter War in 1939-1940, the reason why it has been painted with these Finnish markings today.

Delivered to the USAAF as C-47A 42-93706, this Dakota went to Canadair for conversion to DC-3A-456 in 1956-1946. It was delivered on 21 September 1946 as LN-IAH to Det Norske Luftfartselskap AS. DNL merged with SAS in August 1948, and the aircraft was registered LN-IKH with SAS in 1949, and SE-CFR in 1957. In 1960, it was sold to the Swedish Air Force as 79007. F13 used it for 22 years and on 19 December 1982 it was flown to the Flygvapenmuseum in Malmen, where it has been ever since.

The excellent collection of the Flygvapenmuseum in Malmen holds many treasures. One of these is this FVM-built Albatros B.II. It was built in Malmen in 1925 and delivered to the army. When the Swedish Air Force was founded in 1926 it took the aircraft over and designated it Sk1.

ex WJ900 Varsity T Mk1, delivered to Sweden in 1953, where the air force called it a Tp82. It was the only Tp82 ever used with the Swedish air force. It served until 23 May 1973, when it was retired and showed up with the excellent Flygvapenmuseum collection in November 1979. It has long been on outside display, but more recently it was moved inside.

The first Lansen was delivered in 1955 and the aircraft type was flown until the 1990s. In total, Saab produced nearly 500 examples of the type, of which 287 were 'A' attack versions. It was an important part of the Swedish defense during the 1950s and 1960s. Unfortunately, a third of all Lansens were destroyed in various accidents, in which a total of 100 crew members and seven civilians died. The accidents were largely due to technical failures and the pilots being poorly trained in flying in the dark and bad weather. The Flygvapenmusem's example flew from 1957 with F 6 Karlsborg.

The P-51 did not arrive in Sweden until towards the end of WWII when the Allies offered used aircraft to interested buyers. In three years, Sweden bought 161 Mustangs, designated J 26 in Flygvapnet service. From 1953, the Flygvapnet began to take the J 26 out of service but did not preserve any of the frames, rather all were sold to various countries. This example first served withe USAAF as 44-63992 and then with the Israeli DF as 2353. Israeli authorities later donated it for preservation and it now wears the same F 16/A markings as when delivered in April, 1945.

The SAAB 21 series is a Swedish fighter/attack aircraft in a twin boom pusher configuration that first flew in 1943. Of the 298 total production, 66 were of the A-3 version, equipped with a bomb aiming sight and armed with unguided rockets and bombs as well later being able to use two RATO rockets. This example is one of three J 21 survivors and is on display at this museum.
