Sporting the European Regional Airline Association's logo and those of all the member airlines. Delivered to Schreiner as PH-SDJ in December 1990 and operated for Sabena. To Widerøe December 1996, then Trans Island Airways as C6-FUZ in January 2022, and Air Inuit as C-FGQF in September 2024.

The first CL44 built for the civil market. Used by Canadair for tests and demonstrations following its first flight on 16 November 1960, built as a CL-44D4-1. Delivered to Loftleidir as TF-LLH in May1965. Converted to CL-44J late 1966. Photographed at Fornebu summer 1971 by my friend Jan Olav Martinsen, who have given me the privilige of uploading his photos. 2.December 1971 sold to Cargolux, and converted to freighter. 12.May 1979 EI-BGO Aer Turas. Wfu January 1986 at Dublin and broken up in June 1986.

First flight 1969 at Long Beach, and delivered new to SAS 22.february 1969 as the 3rd DC-8-63 named "Frode Viking". Leased to Icelandair for 7 months from April 1981. 2.December 1981 transferred to Scanair and renamed "Mette Viking". September 1983 OY-KTF was repainted to the new Scanair colours as seen on this photo. Wfu 29.December 1988 and sold as N792AL and converted to freighter. July 1989 HK-3490X TAMPA Cargo, February 1991 N814AX ABX, and Air, July 2009 9G-AXE Maridian Airways until stored at Oostende July 2010, and broken up 2013. Shot by my good friend Jan Olav Martinsen

First flown in 1944, 43-17178 USAAF, 20 October 1944 39121 converted to R5D-2 for US Navy, 25 July 1946 N88707 Eastern Airlines fleet no 714 (leased), returned to US Navy 6 May 1951 and stored. 1956 N68576 converted to DC-4A, 11 August 1956 LN-SUP Braathens SAFE "Commander". 1957 leased to Loftleidir. 1960 returned and repainted in the colours seen on this photo, and renamed "Norse Commander". 6 July 1966 D-ADAR to Transportflug, 1967 D-ADAR leased to Alitalia. 1968 D-ADAR Transportflug (returned). Photographed after roll-out after repainting in THAI colours for a lease period. First flight 12 November 1969 at Long Beach, delivered new to SAS 25 November 1969 as OY-KGG "Sune Viking". In January 1970 prepared for lease, 29 January 1970 HS-TGM for THAI. 1 October 1970 returend to SAS as OY-KGG. 21 November 1974 leased to Swissair as HB-IDY, and returned as OY-KGG with SAS 26 September 1975. Repainted to new SAS colours in 1985. 10 May 1991 N762NW for Northwest Airlines, and in October transferred to Delta Air Lines, in NW colours. Wfu at Sanford 3 January 2011 and broken up.

The first Lufthansa scheduled flight to Fornebu was on 5 November 1966. From time onwards, Lufthansa operated a weekly Saturday CV-440 flight from Hamburg via Gothenburg to Fornebu, and the first arrival was photographed on a rainy opening day. First flight was in 1957, and delivered new to LH as D-ACEX on 18 September 1957. On 31 June 1968 it was sold to Air Algerie as 7T-VAY, and converted to a CV-640 with RR Dart 542 turbo prop engines. April 1982 N849TA for Atlas Aircraft Corp, and a month later to C-GQCY for High Line Airways. To Norcanair in 1988, operated for TimeAir unitl withdrawn from use in March 1993.

First flight 13 July 1966 at Hurn and delivered new to British Eagle 22 July 1966 as G-ATPL. Leased to SAS as G-ATPL "Arnold Viking" from 4 August 1967 to 1 March 1968 as SAS first DC-9 deliveries were delayed. Flew for EGT until WFU 6 November 1968. Then to Dan-Air 14 October 1969 until 1990, going to Ladeco as CC-CYI on 17 December 1990. WFU November 1994 and stored at Santiago. Broken up for spares in 2000. Dan-Air started to fly to FBU from Newcastle three times a week in May 1985, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and this was an ice cold Friday. DC-9s LN-RLK and OY-KGA seen behind.

First flight 17 March 1969 at Long Beach, delivered new to SAS 12 April 1969 as SE-DBP "Rane Viking". Repainted to the new SAS Colours in 1984. 22 October 1990 re-registered to OY-KID, still "Rane Viking" and flying for SAS. Sold February 1998, and leased by SAS until wfu at CPH 1 December 2000. Returned as N338CA April 2001, and the leased to Aeropostal as YV-12C 27 September 2001 and flown until wfu and stored at Caracas in 2006. DC-9-41 SE-DAM seen parked behind

First flight 28th February 1959 as a L-188A Electra, delivered new to Ansett Airlines as VH-RMB. October 1972 VH-RMB was converted to a L-188AF freighter and op until wfu January 1984. In September 1984 N358Q for TPI International. Seen outside the Fred Olsen Hangar during a two month lease to Fred Olsen, this ice-cold final day of 1985, still in ex Ansett colours.

Seen resting in the northern corner of FBU, a quiet last day of 1985. Note the small bee stripes added to the top of the tail fin in October 1985.

The last and Final DC-8 produced at Long Beach, first flight 4 April 1972, and delivered new to SAS 13 May1972 as SE-DBL "Tord Viking", transferred to Scanair 1 April 1982 and repainted to the new Scanair colours as seen on photo in February 1984. The winter 1985/1986 SE-DBL flew 3 domestic schedules from Oslo to Bergen from Monday to Friday, and it is photgraphed while taxing for a rwy 24 departure to Bergen. Wfu 27 April 1989, and sold as N797AL to Aerolease for converion to freighter. Delivered to Emery Worldwide as N797AL in August 1989. Stored at Victorville in 2002

First flight 12 February 1971 at Renton, Delivered new to Lufthansa as D-ABHE "Darmstadt" 18 February 1971. Transferred to Lufthansa Cargo in 1985, before this photo was taken, and transferred to German Cargo in May 1990, and returned to Lufthansa Cargo in May 1993. In September 1994 transferred to Air Atlanta Icelandic as TF-ABF, opf Lufthansa Cargo, wfu at the end of 1999, then on 11 July 2000 to N767TW for Ameristar Airways, in 2006 to Ameristar Air Cargo. Wfu 2008 and used for parts and broken up at Roswell, USA

First flight 14 October 1959 as a L-188C registered N9724C, and delivered new as ZK-NEA to TEAL Tasman Empire Airways . In January ZK-TEA transferred to Air New Zealand, named "Aotearoa". To N31231 27 May 1972 with Flamingo Air Lines. Converted to freighter in December 1972, and bought by FOF as LN-FOI 11th September 1973, op cargo flights for SAS and other carrieres. Seen outside the FOF Hangar in October 1985, with a white nose-cone instead of the usual black one. In 1986 repainted to the new white livery, which LN-FOI wore until Fred Olsen shout down the airline in 1997. Moved to Coventry January 1998.

First flight 17 March 1978 at Renton as N1247E. Delivered to TACA on 3 July 1978 as YS-08C. After Braathens returned their first B767 LN-SUV to Boeing, who leased it to TACA in basic Braathens colours, they got B737 YS-08C on lease via Boeing from TACA in this basic TACA livery as YS-08C, very fresh on 26 Sep 1985. In May 1986 Braathens received new 737s from Boeing, and YS-08C went back to Boeing. 28 May 1986 N171AW for America West, 17 Feb 1988 F-GHXK for EAS, in May 1995 transferred to Air Toulouse, also flown for Air Afrique, Emerald Air, Corsair, Aeris and Bellview Airlines.

First flight was 23.December 1982, delivered new to British Airways 25.January 1983 and as "Windsor Castle", config CY190. In 1986 G-BIKB was repainted to the new Landor BA colurs, still "Windsor Castle". in 1999 G-BIKB got the "Chelsea Rose" tail, as part of the BA World Tails. In 2002 wfu and converd to freighter B757-236(SF): 1.July 2002 OO-DPS for European Air Transport, opf DHL in DHL colours. 26.March 2010 D-ALEB DHL EAT Leipzig tfd and repainted to the yellow DHL colours. 01.September 2015 G-BIKB rr DHL Air transferred.. In August 2017 wfu at Madrid, and broken up there. Op as BA642

From the Collection of Fornebu Historical Society, BAC flew One-Eleven EI-ANH to Fornebu for presentation to Braathens SAFE which were evaluating Jet airliners to replace their DC-6B fleet.
