This was one of the two prototype YAT-37Ds evaluated by the USAF for a counter-insurgency (COIN) attack/reconnaissance aircraft to use in Southeast Asia. It was retired to the museum in December 1964. However, it was recalled to active service in August 1966 for final design testing of the urgently needed A-37 attack aircraft. It rejoined the museum in July 1970 as a YA-37A

By 1924 the US Army Air Service needed a new primary training aircraft, and they chose the PT-1 designed by the Consolidated Aircraft Corp of Buffalo, NY. Deliveries began in 1925 and the type became the first trainer purchased by the Army Air Service in substantial quantity following WWI, with some 221 of them built. This example was obtained from Ohio State University in 1957

Built as A-26B 41-39596, this Invader served the ANG through the 1950s and in 1965 was rebuilt as a B-26K by On-Mark Engineering, with modified fuselage and tail, strengthened wings, improved engines, reversible propellers and wing-tip fuel tanks. By mid-1966 it had been assigned to the 1st SOW at Eglin AFB, FL and on deployment to Nakhon Phanom RTAFB for combat over Vietnam, was referred to as an A-26A as the Thais would not allow ops by bomber aircraft. Returned to US Oct 1979, registered N268G in 1971, C-GXTF in 1977 and N22939 in 1978. Raced as "Mojave Kid", flown to USAFM in Nov 1988

Operation Creek Party, in which ANG and AFRes tankers supported active duty USAF and NATO units in Europe, ran for 10 years from 1967. The Stratofreighter on display at NMUSAF was converted in 1965 from KC-97G by the addition of two J47 jets to KC-97L and was flown by the 160th ARG, Ohio ANG when it participated in this operation. In June 1973, the mayor of Zeppelinheim, a town near Rhein-Main AB in West Germany, christened it in his town's honour. Having made a star appearance at the 1974 Air Tattoo at RAF Greenham Common, it was flown to the museum two years later

Built as a B-57B, 52-1499 was initially used at Wright-Patterson AFB for test work, being modified to JB-57B in 1960 as a high-altitude target and for camera calibration. In 1964 it was loaned to the Lear Jet Corp for more tests but in 1966 was converted back to B-57B standard, deploying with the 8th BS/35th TFW, Phan Rang, Vietnam for combat duties. Stored at MASDC from 1969, it was converted to EB-57B in 1972 and assigned to the 17th DSES/Kansas ANG then in 1979 to the 134th DSES/Vermont ANG. Flown to USAFM in 1981 and restored to its Vietnam colours in 2010
