In 1961 this F-84 was part of a mass deployment of 200 fighters to Europe in response to the Berlin Crisis and the following year it was transferred 366th FBW at Chaumont-Semoutiers AB, France. In 1970 after retirement by the 178th TFG, Ohio ANG it was flown to Wright Field for storage until the new museum building opened and it is these days one of the superb exhibits in the Cold War Gallery This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
