Built as a B-57B, 52-1499 was initially used at Wright-Patterson AFB for test work, being modified to JB-57B in 1960 as a high-altitude target and for camera calibration. In 1964 it was loaned to the Lear Jet Corp for more tests but in 1966 was converted back to B-57B standard, deploying with the 8th BS/35th TFW, Phan Rang, Vietnam for combat duties. Stored at MASDC from 1969, it was converted to EB-57B in 1972 and assigned to the 17th DSES/Kansas ANG then in 1979 to the 134th DSES/Vermont ANG. Flown to USAFM in 1981 and restored to its Vietnam colours in 2010

Ca.1953: TOS USAF as a B-57B; assigned to Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, for test programs. 1967: 35th Tactical Fighter Wing/8th Bomb Squadron, Phan Rang, Vietnam. 10/69: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. 5/72: Robins AFB, GA; converted to EB-57B. 6/77: 117th Defense Systems Evaluations Squadron (ANG), Forbes Field, KS. 3/79: 134th Defense Systems Evaluations Squadron (ANG), Burlington, VT. 20 Aug 81: Flown to Air Force Museum. 2010: Restored to Vietnam War configuration.

This B-57 was originally assigned to wright-Patterson AFB as a test aircraft but was returned to combat configuration in 1967 and flew with the 8th BS in Vietnam for more than two years. After returning to the US she was converted to an electronic counter measures EB-57B version and was retired to the National Museum of the USAF in 1981. The museum have restored her back to her Vietnam configuration and markings for display.
