Every decade or so, it seems that Air Canada tries a different dedicated freighter aircraft. Before this 1967 ex-United Airlines 727 (and two sister ships), there were Bristol Freighters, Vanguards, DC-8s and DC-9s. The 727Fs were in the fleet from 1979 - 1981 and all three aircraft were sold to Interstaes Airlines.

A3-2 was one of two French built Mirages delivered to the RAAF. From the third aircraft they were built in Australia. No. 2 served with ARDU, the weapons and aircraft development unit. Calibrations on the fuselage in these contrasting marking allowed accurate measurements to be taken. A3-2 had the distinction of being the last RAAF Mirage to perform at an air show, at Richmond in October 1988. It was sold to Pakistan in 1990 and delivered by sea.

WWII Veteran 44-78630 took to civilian life with a flair. Among the airlines operating it were Flying Tigers, Cubana, Canadian Pacific, Pacific Western, Nordair and Fairbanks Air Service. Here it has recently arrived, Northcoast titles removed before delivery to Ilford Riverton Airways. Ultimately it was stripped and abandoned at Shamattawa, Manitoba after an accident in 1982. The registration was reused on another C-46 in 1987.

A65-94 was at one stage earmarked to be a target for cluster bombs. But that plan was dropped and it flew on with the RAAF for several more years. The Historical Aircraft Restoration Society at Wollongong bought it in 2000 and now operate it as VH-EAF.
