About 1976 it was transferred to Griffith, NSW, for further restoration work. It was flown to Sydney - Bankstown in 1980 under a ferry permit and became VH-AGO in March that year (-AGL had been reallocated). But a year later it was cancelled again over concerns about the quality of its glued wings.
