This plane is a new reproduction build by Flug + Werk GmbH from the ground up using many original dies, plans and other information from WWII. Werk numbers continued from where Focke-Wulf left off, with the new Fw 190s being labeled 'Fw 190 A-#/N' (N for Nachbau 'replica'). This example is part of the Planes of Fame museum and wears the scheme of Luftwaffe ace Oskar Bosch.

The 'Jack' was intended as an interceptor to counter the threat of high-altiitude bombers and so relied on speed, climb performance and armament at the expense of manoevrability. Despite initial promise continual teething and supply problems meant they never fulfilled their potential. Of the 621 aircraft built this is the only survivor at the Planes of Fame museum.

The port side has nice 'Intensive Care' nose art but the light meant the shot had to be this way. This plane was TOC as 45-34950 with the USAAF but is now part of the Planes of Fame collection at Valle.
