from my collection, photographer unknown, delivered July 1956 to Pan American World Airways as N742PA, cvtd. to freighter in 1965, to Trans Meridian in 1968 as G-AWBI, wfu MIA 1969 regd. N4271 for International Aerodyne, b/u two years later

Built for Pan American in 1956 and used to visit London/Heathrow as N733PA. Later it was registered as VR-BCT and flew in the Biafra Air Lift. There the story ends.

Built at Chester in September 1956 as a Dove 2B for BOAC. Converted to Dove 6 in 1959 and flown by executive operators. Here it wears additional "Training Flight" titles.

G-APID was flown by a long line of UK airlines in the 10 years it graced the UK register. Trans Meridian operated it under lease from Trans-World Leasing. -APID ended up as snack bar at Seville, Spain, in 1967 but has since been scrapped.

G-AXUL pushed into a corner behind the Qantas Medical Centre. Behind it is a old railway embankment, unused after the line was diverted around the airport instead of running across it. The embankment and the medical centre are now gone, as are the off-airport industrial buildings.
