An army surplus store just north of Donauworth had two Huey helicopters on display under a shed. One is a former German example (serial 7369), but this unknown cabin belongs to a former US Army Huey.

The crew of this Cobra obviously likes Jack Daniels Old No.7! This Cobra has just returned from Gulf War 1 in the rare desert colour scheme.

Withdrawn from use in 2002 and donated to the Dandenong RSL in September 2003 to honour the Huey crews who flew rescue missions during the Vietnam War. Dandenong RSL Club is a large commercial venue providing meals, entertainment and gambling. The military link is that the club had its origins in the Returned Services League (RSL) which was formed to look after the interests of veterans. The RSL still exists but is separate from the commercial clubs using the RSL name.

The latter was deployed to support OIR, the fight against terrorism in Iraq and Syria. Camp Buehring in Kuwait is used for maintenance of the helicopters as well as rest and R&R for the crew. This 606 was withdrawn from use at Huntsville (AL) by Dec'17. The US Army placed it into its Black Hawk Exchange and Sales Team (BEST) programme. It was then converted to UH-60A+ and left for the Afghan Air Force as 23607. After the Taliban took over the country in 2021,

Within the bounderies of the massive base (that housed the command of the Combinded Joint Task Force of Operation Inherent Resolve) is Patton Army Heliport (OK2A). The 168 was built by Sikorsky as a UH-60A and delivred to the US Army in the early 199s. It was later converted to UH-60L and here seen, most likely assigned to the A/1-111th AVN of the Puerto Rico ARNG, but still showed the outlines of the State of its previous owner, the Kentucky ARNG.

Arrived at the Hill Heritage Museum in 1988. Later repainted into USAF colours. For disposal in 2025.
