This Harrier was first flown as a GR1 on 4 January 1972 and delivered to the RAF on 14 August 1972. It was converted to GR1A and later to GR3. It served 3 squadron and was sadly written off on 6 June 1976 following an engine failure after a turbine blade broke off. It crashed near Borken (Germany). Luckily, the pilot was able to eject to safety

Only 147 Brigands were built. Intended as a replacement of the Beaufighter after World War II, the type was modified as a light bomber. This example served with 84 Squadron. It is probably seen here at Bahrain or Sharjah en route to the far east. It was destroyed on 19th June 1951 at RAF Tengah, Singapore, when it crashed on approach following an engine failure which lead to the grounding of the type. The Pilot bailed out and survived, but the navigator was killed

ex '30' of 8 FTS, XE935 was one of a batch of Vampires sold back to HSA and held in storage at Woodford. It was issued 1066 ATC Squadron at Knebworth House (with the wings and boom of XE985) in 1973. XE935 was then moved to Sywell by Dec81 for the Nene Valley Aviation Society. Notes courtesy of Mike Bursell, photo by Tony Lloyd.
