Red 6 recovered in 2003 on display at Planes of Fame. Built in 1939 as an E-1, this combat veteran participated in the Battle of France and BoB. It was converted to an E-7, carrying a 300L drop tank or as a Jabo with an ETC 50 or ETC 500 bomb rack. The Emil went to newly formed II./JG 5 'Eismeer' on 22 Mar 1942 at Petsamo and was flown by Lt. Wulf-Dieter Widowitz. While on an escort mission, it was shot down on 4 Apr 1942 by a 2nd GIAP Hurricane Mk.IIb. Widowitz put the aircraft down on a frozen lake. The 36-victory ace was killed on 28 Jul 43 while piloting a Go-145A from Kirkenes to Petsamo.

On the flight line at Flying Legends 2011. This Yak-9 was built by Strela Aircraft Co. in Orenburg with an Allison V-1710 engine as the Klimov M-105PF was rare to find. The Yakolevs were the best of the big three Soviet fighter designs, Yaks accounting for half the Russian fighters built from 1941-45. About similar in performance to the Bf-109, the Yak-9 could more than hold its own below 15,000 feet.

On display at Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum. The T-2 was influenced by the design of the SEPECAT Jaguar, as can be seen from this rear view. It was also powered by two Adour turbofans, licence built by Ishikawajima-Harima as the TF40-IHI-801A. Unlike the Jaguar, the T-2 had single wheels. This is the experimental Control Configuration Vehicle (CCV) that has three canards.

The sole surviving complete Typhoon on display at RAFM Hendon. With the covers off, one gets a good look at the Napier Sabre 24-cylinder engine, the propeller and a view of the open gun bay doors for the four 20mm Hispano cannon. Good at low level, the "Tiffy" was deadly as a fighter-bomber, armed with two 500 kg. bombs or eight RP-3 rockets. No. 609 Sqn under S/L Beamont flew the first Rhubarb mission in Nov 1942. By D-Day as many as 18 Typhoon squadrons equipped 2nd TAF, wreaking havoc on ground targets in the weeks that followed.
