This evening (January 2, 2024) it collided with a Japanese Coast Guard Dash 8 while arriving back at HND, and is the first full hull loss for an A350. Glad to hear that everyone made it out from the aircraft in one piece. The crew of the Dash 8 were unfortunately not as lucky. This accident is the first for JAL since JAL123 in 1985.

Morning departure of JL307 to Fukuoka. Operating as JL516 from Sapporo, this aircraft was written off at Haneda Airport on 2 Jan 2024 after a collision with JA722A DHC-8-315Q MPA of Japan Coast Guard on an earthquake relief mission. All 379 occupants evacuated the A350 safely but the aircraft was destroyed by fire, resulting in the first hull loss of an Airbus A350.
