Blue Impulse 1, 2, 3 and 4 in perfect synchrony above Hamamatsu AB in the afternoon during Air Festa 2019. The Blue Impulse T-4s have a strengthened canopy and main wing leading edge to survive bird strikes as most of the maneuvers are at low altitude. In addition, the rudder movement has been increased in these aerobatic aircraft. Blue Impulse aircraft also carry a ring laser gyroscope (RLG), so sudden movements that could cause the gimbal to lock are eliminated.

Recce Phantom from 501 Hikotai decelerating on the active at Hamamatsu during Air Festa 2019. The squadron was formed at Matsushima in 1961 on the RF-86F. In 1974, 501 Hikotai received its first RF-4Es and moved to Hyakuri. Woody Woodpecker, the squadron's emblem is visible on the tail. Special markings were applied in 2019 showing a film reel on the fuselage and nose.
