The Portugese navy initially refused to take delivery of its six airframes, ordered for £50,000 in 1935, and they were already withdrawn in 1938 following a fatal accident. This BP photo is believed to be the Great Moscow Circus arriving at Perth for the start of a highly successful tour of Australia. CCCP-75439 was a new aircraft registered in April 1967. Photo date given is 1967. First performance of the tour was in Perth in January 1968 and performers would have needed to acclimatise after leaving Russia in winter for an Australian summer. This BP photo is believed to be the Great Moscow Circus arriving at Perth for the start of a highly successful tour of Australia. CCCP-75439 was a new aircraft registered in April 1967. Photo date given is 1967. First performance of the tour was in Perth in January 1968 and performers would have needed to acclimatise after leaving Russia in winter for an Australian summer.
