The DH-89 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force was built in 1944 and carried RAF serial NR695. It was sold to the government of India in 1945, then sold again to a private concern in 1946. Eventually, it came to the United States where it was modified to the civilian Dragon Rapide passenger configuration. The classic aircraft was obtained by the museum and flown here in November 1989. Pictured as Wardair was undergoing a huge expansion, this A310 (one of 14 on order) had been delivered on January 21, 1988. It proved over optimistic and the financial stress saw Canadian Airlines buy Wardair in 1989. The last two A310s, twelve MD-80 and twelve Fokker 100 orders were cancelled. C-FSWD was last with the French Air Force as F-RADC from January 2001. The aircraft was withdrawn from service in November 2021 and ferried to Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport before the end of the month for scrapping.
