A real rarity, painted to represent a Charleston-based USCG J2K-2 which was written off in May 1941. The RAF serial FS614 is sometimes reported as a previous identity but this seems to be uncertain.

Ordered by the USAAF as 43-15025 and supplied to the RAF as HB751 in 1944. Registered as HB-AEC in 1947, D-EKEQ in 1960, OO-EKE in 1970 and G-BCBL in 1974. Current on the register in 2023 in RAF markings as HB751.

This Argus was built at Hagerstown as 44-83159 and shipped across the Atlantic aboard the SS Loch Dee, arriving in Port Said in Nov. 1944. It then flew with the RAF as KK502 from Hussein Dey in Algeria until June 1946, when it was flown to US Army Payne Field (now Cairo airport) for disposal. It became F-OAFY with the French in North Africa and then CN-TNV with the Morrocan Royal Aero Club at Tit Meli as a parachute plane. After languishing in a warehouse in Hamburg for many years it is now under restoration to flight by Classic Trainers as many of the type flew in Czechoslovakia post-WWII.

Photographed on the day this aircraft was moved to the new BHAM site on the Western side of the airfield. Fortunately this aircraft was given a new lease of life and is displayed in RAF scheme as FK338 in the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington (as of 2022).

Ex 42-32142, FK338. Registered G-AJOZ 21 April 1947. Cancelled 27 February 1967 as PWFU. Subsequently to the British Historic Aircraft Museum, later the Historic Aircraft Museum (Southend), at Southend and currently displayed as FK338 in the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington.

Ordered by the USAAF as 43-14887 and transferred to the RAF as HB614. Returned to the USAAF then registered as G-AJPI in 1947. Based in the Netherlands from 2003. CofA expired in 2010. Still current on the register in 2023.

This composite was used as an 'eye-catcher' and comprised mainly the fuselage of OO-FAA and wings of OO-FAC. OO-FAA is c/n.949, ex 43-14985, HB711, which had been damaged at Melsbroek in 1948. OO-FAC is c/n.915, ex 43-14951, HB677, which had been damaged beyond repair at Keerbergen 5 November 1954.

Built as USAAF 44-83098, it went to the RAF as KK441. Becoming civil as I-AIAU, it was later reregistered as I-FULK. Under the wing it is still carrying I-FULK, on the aft fuselage KK441.

The name "Dalonige Tsisqua" is Cherokee for "Yellow Bird"

A UC-61K built in 1944 for the USAAF and taken on charge as 44-83184, then transferred to the RAF as an Argus III, KK527. Seen perfectly posed at Old Warden during a Shuttleworth Trust Air Show.

This airplane was built in 1944 for the US Air Force. Next it was delivered to the RAF as an Argus III. After the end of the war in 1945, it was sold to the Swedish company Ostermans Aero AB and in 1947 it was registered as SE-BCG. The aircraft was sold to Finland in 1951 and registered as OH-FCC and had different owners. In 1960, the aircraft was sold to Swedish Halmstad Flygklubb and received a new registration SE-CPA. In 1962, the aircraft was sold to private owner in Copenhagen and was registered as OY-EA. In 1968, the aircraft was donated to the Danish Aviation History Section.

Constructed in in 1943 with USAAF serial 43-14885 but transferred to the RAF as HB612. Under the terms of lend-lease the aircraft was returned to the USAAF post-war but it appears to have remained in the UK. It was registered as G-AJSN on 8 May, 1947 to the West London Aero Club and was bought by Hon. Benjamin Bathurst (an ex-RAF pilot) on 13 May 1948. It was sold to another owner in March, 1967, but its flying career apparently ended when it suffered a ground loop at Cork on 10 June, 1967. As can be seen here, the aircraft has now been beautifully restored by the Ulster Aviation Society.
