Registered L2-27 between October 24, 1941 and January 17, 1945. Shipped from the Dutch Indies to the UK for Prince Bernhard, arriving at Liverpool on August 6, 1942. To the 1316 (Allied) Flight, mostly flown by Prince Bernhard. Transferred to the Dutch Government again on January 17, 1945 with fake serial EX735. Late 1945, the aircraft moved from Hendon to Valkenburg, where the 1 TransVA was founded. The Lockheeds carried the (paper) serials AX236, BX238, CX245, DX246 and EX753, but these weren't always applied. T-5 eventually crashed. Photo from W. Muntinga

To G-AHLH in May 1947. to EI-ALC around MArch 1961. To F-BUIE in April 1973. Withdrawn from use and stored at Nice between 1974 and 1982. Ferried to St. Tropez in 1982. Ferried to California in September 2002 as N18130. CoA issues in August 2007. To the aviation museum in Stockholm as SE-BXU after September 2012. Later registered to different US owners (LLC's) as N18130. Operated by Artdeco Aviation. Likely already our visitor of the year.

An Electra Junior wearing it's original registration used by Conoco Oil Company when delivered in 1938. Pictured when based at Paine Field, WA, the aircraft was previously based in New Zealand. In 2018, the vintage twin moved to Genk-Zwartberg, Belgium.

Ex 41-1306,L2-38, PJ-AKD, BX238, RNethAF T-2 and SE-BXR. Later LN-BFS and OY-AOV. On display at Militaire Luchtvaart Museum, Netherlands, as L2-38. Photographer and exact date not known.

Crashed at Oshkosh - Wittman on Jul 31, 1990 during the 1990 EAA convention. Suffered an engine failure during a fly-by and was unable to maintain altitude. The five people on board survived with injuries.

The Netherlands East Indies air force was the main military user of the small Lockheed 12 Electra Junior, acquiring 16 L-212 crew trainers and 20 L-12 transports. Eleven of the latter were delivered to the Royal Netherlands Military Flying School at Jackson, Mississippi following the Japanese invasion in the NEI. After the closure of the school, they were sent to the West Indies, Australia and England, and some served in the East Indies and Holland after the war. This Lockheed 12 was originally delivered in Aug 1941. In 2008 it was painted to resemble Amelia Earhart's famous Lockheed 10 NR16020 (c/n 1055), in which she attempted to fly around the world but disappeared without a trace on 2 Jul 1937. This aircraft was used in the 2008 movie "Amelia", together with another Lockheed 12 (N2072).

This Lockheed 12 was originally delivered in Aug 1941. Two Lockheed 10s and another Lockheed 12s were at one time also painted to resemble Earhart's NR16020: N1602D (L-10 c/n 1042) in 1987 (50th anniversary), N72GT (L-10 c/n 1015) in 1997 (60th anniversary), and N2072 (L-12 c/n 1208) in 2008. The latter was also used in the 2008 movie.
