Ex-Avensa Convair 580 YV-53C, (note YV-63 behind), in temporary storage at Miami Intl. in November 1979. Later that month it went to Plymouth Leasing as N4806Q and converted to cargo configuration; re-registered N588PL it operated for a number of US and Canadian carriers and in August 1980, whilst operating for Interstate Airlines, it survived a wheels up landing on a foamed runway at Boston Logan after having an undercarriage problem. In April 1986 it was re-registered C-GNMQ with Nordair Metro returning to the US as N118GT in 1990, and is thought to have been scrapped at Detroit soon after.

This aircraft was sold to Bolivia in March 1981 as CP-1674 and it is reported online that on 22nd July 1989, whilst operating for SASA - Servicios Aéreos Santa Ana, it crashed into Chacaltaya Mountain in the Bolivian Andes at Flight Level 150 when descending into La Paz El Alto International Airport in IFR conditions.

Under maintenance at the time, this 1954 Convair 580 (ex TAM-73) flew again for the Bolivian Air Force, only to met its demise in a crash 22 February 2005 at Trinidad. The aircraft crash-landed on muddy terrain just after takeoff following engine problems. Twenty-eight people were injured. The wreck lingered around for a few more years.

Long term storage since 1992 for this Convair 580 TAM-70 with msn 94. TAM operated another Convair 580 with the same serial and msn 39 which was sold as N81MR in 1979.
