Under maintenance at the time, this 1954 Convair 580 (ex TAM-73) flew again for the Bolivian Air Force, only to met its demise in a crash 22 February 2005 at Trinidad. The aircraft crash-landed on muddy terrain just after takeoff following engine problems. Twenty-eight people were injured. The wreck lingered around for a few more years.

After storage this Convair was bought by the Fuerza Aerea Boliviana for its Transportes Aereo Militar arm and is seen here six months later. Some friendly American technicians were in the cockpit, still preparing the avionics
