Although a landlocked country, much of Paraguay's southern border is formed by the Paraguay and Parana rivers which are patrolled and secured by the Paraguayan Navy. Two HB350Bs were delivered in 1985. The other, (H-501) was written off in February 2012.

Built in 1961 as N4404P, exported to Argentina in March 1961 as LV-GOE and to the Paraguayan Air Force in 1991. Out of use and stored by 2002, it was reported in use as an instructional airframe in the town of Villa Hayes in 2013 but current status is uncertain.

Paraguay operated a total of fourteen T-23 Uirapurus, eight new build T-23s delivered in 1975 and six T-23As obtained from Brasil in 1986. One of a number of aircraft displayed inside the entrance to the base, 0012 was ex FAB0992. In recent years the collection of displayed airframes has increased and been officially recognised as the Museo de la Fuerza Aérea Paraguaya.

Under maintenance at the time, this 1954 Convair 580 (ex TAM-73) flew again for the Bolivian Air Force, only to met its demise in a crash 22 February 2005 at Trinidad. The aircraft crash-landed on muddy terrain just after takeoff following engine problems. Twenty-eight people were injured. The wreck lingered around for a few more years.

One of very few aircraft ever operated by the Bolivian army, based at La Paz-El Alto and operated by the general command of the army. I had to cross a taxiway to reach their hangar, to see the only aircraft the unit operated at the time.

Freshly delivered, about two weeks before this picture was taken, this Hercules is the former 58-0750 of the US Air Force. At the time, crew and technicians were still getting familiar with this aircraft.

Long term storage since 1992 for this Convair 580 TAM-70 with msn 94. TAM operated another Convair 580 with the same serial and msn 39 which was sold as N81MR in 1979.

Paraguay took delivery of nine Embraer EMB-326s in 1979/1980, and one attrition replacement was received in 1982. Operated by the Grupo Aerotactico, five were written off and the survivors were withdrawn and stored by the end of 2003. 1009 is now used as a travelling exhibit.

Ex 0027, one of eight former Brazilian AF Fokker S-11s used by the Paraguay AF between 1972 and 1978. Seen outside Civilian Aviation Authority offices close to Silvio Pettirossi Airport where it was displayed for several years. Moved to nearby Ñu-Guazú air base circa 2009 and displayed as '0107'.

Built for the US Army as 62-1906, to Panama Servicio Nacional Aeronaval as FAP111 in 1976 and to Ministerio de Seguridad Publica in Costa Rica as TI-SPP in 1978. Returned to the US as N4242T and upgraded to Garlick UH-1B before export to Argentina as LV-WED in June 1993. Repaired following damage in January 1995 and delivered to Paraguay along with two other Garlick UH-1Bs in 1996. Withdrawn and displayed as a gate guard at Ñu Guazú (SGAM) by 2007.

In Paraguay since 1996 and allocated military serial 0224 which was never worn. Withdrawn from use in 2005 and has since been displayed inside the main gate to the air force base at Silvio Pettirossi (SGAS/ASU).

In service since 1989, transferred to the Paraguayan Air Force as 0233 in 2009.

This United DC-10-10 had been bought by Federal Express and had been heavily scrubbed ready for painting, also it's United titles and tail emblem had been removed before heading to Venice for Cargo conversion via this night stop at Prestwick along the way.
