This Sea Knight was TOC by the USN in Oct. 65 and served with various squadrons including HMM-164, 165 & 265 before being retired to MASDC during Jan. 72 as 1J037. She was returned to service in July 74 with NARF, North Island & then Cherry Point before finally serving in Helicopter Combat Support Squadron (HC) 6 on board the combat stores ship Sylvania (AFS-2). Now in retirement on display at the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola.

A very welcome visitor indeed, these helicopters rarely being seen outside Sweden, where this example was still in service until 2007. Originally Boeing Vertol BV-107/II-2b civil prototype N6679D in 1962, extensively modified as Model 347 prototype 1965-67 and to Swedish Marinen 1969 as model BV-107/II-15 retaining the eight square windows

The KV-107 served widely in the Japanese services, both the Army and Air Force operating greater numbers than the Navy. The example displayed in the JMSDF Museum is one of seven of this sub-variant which was used for mine-sweeping
