VH-FSJ was built as a PA25-150 and modified in New Zealand (where it was ZK-BWU) with a larger Lycoming O-360 engine. It came to Australia in 1969 and initially used as a cropduster. -FSJ was still registered in March 2018 and is use as a glider tug. Photographer not known.

Light amphibian aircraft completed in early 1970. Damaged beyond repair on 13 January 1973. G-AXZN's primary claim to fame is that it flew Edward Woodward, the principal character, out to the pagan Hebridean island of "Summerisle" in the 1973 film 'The Wicker Man'. The flying sequences in the film involving the Thurston Teal were filmed with owner Christopher Murphy at the controls.
