This GippsAero GA8 Airvan was shipped to North America and was displayed at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in July 2005 and the Abbotsford International Airshow in August 2005. It's seen here inside the Aeroflight Industries hangar at Vancouver Airport.

The Vancouver Harbour Heliport as seen looking east from the Canada Place cruise ship terminal. The heliport was floated into position on October 10, 1986 and is anchored to the shore by two footbridges, with a couple small buildings onshore serving at a passenger terminal and office. On this day, a Helijet S-76C+ was practicing Cat A vertical takeoffs from the heliport, which was very unusual to see. This was during a flurry of activity when Transport Canada told Helijet to stop landing a seven H1 hospital helipads in urban areas because of a preceived safety issue, which was soon resolved.

This 1978 Bell JetRanger was one of the instructional aircraft at the Canadian Helicopters HNZ Topflight mountain flying school at Penticton Airport in 2017. It was operated by Sealand Helicopters and Toronto Helicopters before they merged with Okanagan Helicopters to form CHC Helicopter Corp. Canadian Helicopters was later spun off from CHC as a separate company in the 2000s. This aircraft was used in 2007-2008 on its Allied Wings military pilot training contract. Later, it was sold by CHL to a new owner in Quebec in November 2021.

One of a fleet that Conair bought from the military. Many were seen at CYWG while on ferry from Mountainview/ON. Still airworthy here but destined to be used as a parts source then scrapped. This is how it looked in 2006.

In the mid-1950s the school moved to Penticton in the Okanagan Valley (which had better weather) when it won significant pilot training contracts from the RCAF, US Army and French military, followed by many other nations. This is the entrance to the school's $5 million, state-of-the-art building 20,000 sq ft facility which opened in 2012 which it was also rebranded "HNZ Topflight" by owner Canadian Helicopters. The HNZ name was later dropped.

First revenue flight was on 4th December and here departing to Toronto. The snow is starting to accumulate at higher elevations in the background.

Originally part of the Transport Canada fleet as C-FDOH and arrived by truck four days ago wrapped in white plastic.

Based at Springbank/AB (CYBW), but here just arrived from Tofino (YAZ). Possibly a time-builder from the other side of the rocks bravely doing some winter cross-country hours.

This hangar was constructed by Canadian Pacific Air Lines in the late 1950s to maintain its fleet of Bristol Britannia airliners. It was later used by Pacific Western Airlines, AirBC and the aviation campus of the British Columbia Institute of Technology, which was the tenant when this photo was taken in August 2008. The wartime Boeing Aircraft of Canada PBY Catalina factory was once located to the south (left) of this hangar until demolished in the mid-1970s. Boeing's wartime PBY flight test hangar located to the east is still used by companies like Pacific Coastal and Aeroflite/Harbour Air.

This DHC-3 Otter was delivered in May 1960 to the US Army and flew in the US and Vietnam as 59-2224 until damaged in May 1969. Shipped back to the US, it was rebuilt by Harold J. Hansen in Seattle (BFI) in the early 1970s. After flying in Alaska, Canada and Alaska again, it rebuilt as a Vazar DHC-3T Turbo Otter and sold to Whistler Air in 1999. Mike Quinn founded the airline in 1985 and established a floating base on Green Lake in the resort town of Whistler in 1994. In Dec. 2002-Jan 2003 it flew tourists to the South Pole in Antarctica. Harbour Air bought Whistler Air and C-GEND in May 2012.

After 1990, this 500D was exported to Hawaii as N113RS before returning to Canada in 1997 as C-GSSN. It crashed January 1999 after running out of fuel while conducting a seismic survey.

Originally "City of Tacoma" when delivered to United Airlines June 10, 1969, this 737 was later leased to Aloha Airlines July - October 1996. Sold to Interlease when returned, the aircraft was then sold to Air Philippines in 1997 as RP-C2022. It was stored at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila in 2008.

December 27,1980 this helicopter was involved in a night rescue mission that saw three crew members awarded the Star of Courage. The helicopter would later be based in Trenton and Greenwood. Stored at CFB Trenton in 2005 until it was sold to Columbia Helicopters in 2008 and stored at Aurora, OR.

This Dash 8-402 was delivered to Jazz Aviation LP in May 2012 and now wears the latest Air Canada Express colour scheme. It was photographed through the glass from the second floor airside observation area at Vancouver International Airport.
