Built in 1958 and sold to Trek Airways as ZS-DVJ in 1964. In 1967 it was painted in Luxair livery as LX-LGX and operated non-stop flights between Europe and South Africa to get around Apartheid related sanctions. Retired in 1969 then used as a tourist attraction at a resort, in Trek livery, until it was acquired by the SAA Museum in 1988 and put on display at Rand Airport.

Originally built for the USAF as 56-4358 and transferred in November 1959. Here, the tail number has not been modified to match its new serial, but 4358 is worn in small numbers on the nose. In 1972 it was returned to the USAF then transferred to the Royal Thai Air Force.

Delivered new in December 1959 and scrapped at EGLL in July 1972. The thing that stands out in this view is how the fuselage frames are telegraphing through the skin. Maybe a function of being unpressurized with the weight off the nose wheel? I flew on one of these once from EBBR to EGLL. Quite the hot-rod!

Delivered in July 1959 and served until the airline merged with British United in July 1960. Sold to Arkia Israeli Airlines in 1970 as 4X-AVD and scrapped at Castle Donnington (EGNX) by 1983. [At airports where both 700 and 800 series Viscounts of BEA were seen, the way to tell them apart from afar was that the 800 taxied after landing on inboard engines, as here, and the 700 taxied on outboard engines.]
