Delivered in July 1959 and served until the airline merged with British United in July 1960. Sold to Arkia Israeli Airlines in 1970 as 4X-AVD and scrapped at Castle Donnington (EGNX) by 1983. [At airports where both 700 and 800 series Viscounts of BEA were seen, the way to tell them apart from afar was that the 800 taxied after landing on inboard engines, as here, and the 700 taxied on outboard engines.] This photo was added on 28 November 2021, and has since been viewed 457 times. |
