Mar'68: While flying in operation Blind Bat in Vietnam, aircraft suffered serious damage from anti-aircraft fire, including inflight fire inside and outside aircraft. Sent back to USA. Nov'68 to Jun'69: Extensive repairs by Lockheed, converted to NC-130A. Feb'71: 21st TAS, Ching Chuan Kang Air Base, Taiwan. Dec'73: 64th TAS/928th Airlift Wing (AFRES), O'Hare Airport, Chicago, IL. By Apr'89: 176th TFS (ANG), Truax Field ANGB, WI. 19 Oct 89: Ferried to Dyess AFB, TX for Texas Museum of Military History.

Restored for Trans Latin Air as HP-1162TLN in 1990 then to AeroPostal Cargo as XA-RSH in 1992. Withdrawn from use at Mexico City by 1996. Still there in the aircraft cemetery by the NE side of the airport in 2024.

The National Vigilance Park is near the NSA headquarters at Fort Meade. Intelligence gathering aircraft can be found in the park, with this Hercules, real serial 57-453, posing as 60528, which was shot down over the Soviet Republic of Armenia in 1958.

This was the first C-130 to visit New Zealand. It was part of large contingent of aircraft from the USAF for the anniversary. The RNZAF would later buy a fleet of the workhorses and New Zealand was also a base for US Navy C-130s heading to Antarctica Photo from: Air Force Museum of New Zealand

Ex-USAF 57-0518. In the course of its USAF career this aircraft had been designated as an RC-130A for photo-mapping duties. This aircraft became XA-RYZ with Aero Postal de Mexico and as of 2025 was still languishing with several other redundant transports beside Mexico City Airport.
