Six-passenger transport. This is the second 111 airframe, built as the 111/2 and later re-engined. 'The 111/3 was flown as part of the Patrouille Bleriot which gave exhibitions and demonstrations around France and Spain in the 1930s.' The first aircraft (c/n 01) was modified twice to become the 111/4, the first French aircraft with a retractable landing gear, and the 111/5 Sagittaire. The 111/6 (c/n 1) was a no-show in the 1934 London-Melbourne race. Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)

An F-84E put on display in central Leeuwarden to promote an airshow held on 27 and 29 May 1954. This was the second Thunderjet delivered to the Netherlands in April 1951, and it flew initially with the previous US serial 01827. The Dutch serial K-2 was assigned but that was probably never carried. Because there was a great demand for instructional airframes, it was already assigned as such in January 1952. And in July 1952 it was struck of charge to be used at a number of promotion expositions named "Paraat", later returning to the Technical School. Not many advanced aircraft made it to the start of the 1934 London - Melbourne race, and even fewer to the finish. New Zealanders McGregor and Johnnie Walker were able to take fifth place in the speed race in this new, but fairly modest machine. They acquired it through Phillips & Powis Aircraft here at Woodley, Reading. Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)
