This F-100 was delivered to the USAF in June 1957. It went on to be well-travelled, serving with deployments with various units all over the US as well as Turkey, Taiwan and Vietnam. It was retired to AMARC in Nov. 78 and converted to a drone ten years later. Fortunately, it was rescued by the NMUSAF Loan Program and is now on display at the MAPS Air Museum.

The USAF developed the HH-3E 'Jolly Green Giant' to perform combat search and rescue (CSAR) missions to recover downed Airmen during the SE Asia War. The HH-3E was a highly modified version of the CH-3 transport helicopter, being the first air-refuelable helicopter and incorporating armour plating, defensive armament, self-sealing fuel tanks, a water-tight hull and a rescue hoist. This particular aircraft has earned her retirement at the National Museum of the USAF after long and distinguished service in Vietnam.

This is in fact 43-49507, the last C-47 in routine USAF service and arrived at the National Museum of the USAF for display in 1975. It is painted to represent the C-47A flown by 2nd Lt. Gerald 'Bud' C. Berry of the 91st Troop Carrier Squadron, 439th Troop Carrier Group, to recover gliders used in the D-Day invasion. On 22nd March 1945, Lt. Berry used that aircraft to recover a glider filled with wounded soldiers at Remagen, Germany.

The B-45 was a plane of many firsts; the first US four-engined bomber to fly, the first US production jet bomber, the first jet capable of carrying a nuclear bomb and the first multi-jet reconnaisance aircraft to refuel in midair. This example was flown to the National Museum of the USAF in 1971 and wears markings of the 47th BW (light).

The T-6 made its name as a trainer but was rapidly pressed into service at the start of the Korean War in the role of a forward air controller (FAC). The FAC T-6D 'Mosquito' version performed well but was retired by the USAF as single props were thought to be unsuitable for these missions in the jet-age, a decision that was quickly reversed in Vietnam. This Mosquito flew with the 6147th Tactical Air Control Group in the Korean War and was eventually acquired by the National Museum of the USAF in 1995.
