Snowbirds aircraft

Taken in Strength in April 1970, 116712 spent some time in storage before entering service. The type was retired in 1995 and the fighter went back in storage until acquired by the Canadian Air Land Sea Museum in Markham, ON in November 2005.

Entered service in 1971 as a Canadian Army Voyageur, serial 10418. Converted to SAR configuration in 1975 then renamed Labrador in 1982/83 and here with the seahorse tail badge of 442 Sqn at CFB Comox. It was retired with the rest of the fleet in 2005.

After its RCAF service this Beech ended up stored at Pine Falls, MB in the 1970s. It was salvaged from there by 17 Wing in the late 1980s or early 1990s and trucked to Winnipeg. It was restored as RCAF 1528 (its real identity) and placed on display as seen here in the 17 Wing Stevenson Parade Square near the School Of Aerospace Studies at CFB Winnipeg. It replaced another Beech 3NM, RCAF 1577, that had been on display here since 1975 but had deteriorated too badly. 1577 was moved to 17 Wing's dump/storage area, where it was last seen in 1998. In 2005, 1528 was removed from display and moved into a temporary hangar for restoration, seen as such in May 2008 with its outer wings separate. Still there by 2017, unfinished.
