Originally a US Navy JRF-5 (37819), this Goose was sold to the US Fish & Wildlife Service in 1952. Ferried to Alaska, the airplane spent the next 16 years in open storage at Anchorage before getting this unique Garrett turbine conversion in 1971. A 40-inch fuselage extension was added in 1974. Was in Chile for less than a year starting September 1994, "Gran Ganso" (Big Goose) returned the USA the following year and was registered N86MT.

Cypress Airlines brought the airplane to Canada the first time in 1996 (C-GTTA). It would later fly with Air Inuit and Hydro Quebec before going to Pionair, first as ZK-PAL and later VH-PAL. Transferred to the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment at CFB Cold Lake in 1989, it would move to 419 (Moose) squadron in 1990 for training. Painted in this special color scheme, it would appear at many airshows across North America before the type was retired in 1995. Mounted at Fulton Field airport, Kamloops, BC named for 419 Squadron's first commander W/C J. "Moose" Fulton.

Originally 44-35893 this Invader went on to the civil registry June 1958 as N4812E. Bought by the Rock Island Oil & Refining Co for a Monarch 26 conversion that never happened. In 1974 Conair brought it into Canada as C-GHCC for fire fighting. Sold to Air Spray in 1982, it was lost in a hangar fire October 16, 2000 at Red Deer. Sections of the aircraft remain in the field north of Air Spray's hangar there.
