This is the prototype of the M.3 Falcon, developed from the M.2 Hawk. Just a week after its first flight, it started in the great London to Melbourne Air Race but despite this, there are few photos of this aircraft. Pilot Harold Brook took a month to arrive in Melbourne and did complain about the lack of attention he got. His return flight to England in 1935 was very much faster. This T1 was delivered to the RAF in September 1973 but w/o over a year later when it crashed on take-off from Little Rissington after a double engine failure. The fuselage was transported to RAF Finningley for ground instruction and is now undergoing refurbishment at the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum/Aeroventure.
I just can't put into words how wonderful it was for me to visit the Pima Air and Space Museum. To walk around/under all these amazing & beautiful old aircraft was a memory that will stay with me for a long time.
