Originally a US Navy JRF-5 (37819), this Goose was sold to the US Fish & Wildlife Service in 1952. Ferried to Alaska, the airplane spent the next 16 years in open storage at Anchorage before getting this unique Garrett turbine conversion in 1971. A 40-inch fuselage extension was added in 1974. Was in Chile for less than a year starting September 1994, "Gran Ganso" (Big Goose) returned the USA the following year and was registered N86MT.
