Operated by the Antarctic Task Force from Tandil it was modified with a Turbomeca Marboré III C Jet engine (fitted inside the tail underneath the rudder) and a JATO pack. Withdrawn from use in 1970 and later displayed at the museums previous home at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, it was relocated to Morón in 2001. After a period of external display it underwent some restoration and is now housed indoors.

Restored by Hawkins and Powers in 1981/83 using the cockpit section and other parts of 66304/N2870G which had crashed at Ramona, CA in 1980. After restoration the aircraft adopted the identity of BuNo 66304 and its civil registration N2870G for a ferry flight to Pensacola in 1983.
