This 1978 Piper Aztec was operated by Contact Air 1978 - 91. The aircraft also flew with Lockhart Air Services (1991 - 94) and Gold Belt Air Transport (1994 - 97). Last with Airventures Aviation, the aircraft was lost on November 12, 1998. Landing at Toronto Island Airport, the pilot was requested to do a left 360 degree turn for spacing. The left engine quit in the turn with the flaps and landing gear down. The left engine operates the hydraulic pump and gear and flaps could not be retracted. The pilot elected to ditch in Toronto Harbour and exited the aircraft uninjured as is sank.

The SAAF introduced the King Air as a communications aircraft in the early 1980s. Initially they were operated by 21 Sqd on civilian register offering extra discretion when operating to civilian airfields and outside the RSA. The stripes are the same as seen on SAAF DH.125s from the same period. ZS-LNT was delivered in September 1983 and became 654 in October 1995 and later re-registered 650. Photographer unknown

A very rare photo from the time that the well-known sole survivor of the Budd Conestoga at the Pima Air and Space Museum was still operational. It proves that this aircraft was in fact XB-QUZ, and not XB-DUZ as widely reported. By the time this aircraft arrived at Pima in 1978, the registration had faded considerably, with the tail of the 'Q' almost entirely gone. As can be seen in this photo, the 'Q' was also unusually square in shape. All this made the registration at that time appear to read as XB-DUZ. At one of the highway E4 exits at Söderhamn, this AJ37 Viggen is on display reminiscent of F15 which was based at the air base near this city, about 2 hours North of Stockholm.
