Ex Air France F-BLHI, entered service with the SAAF in 1983 as ZS-LSJ, one of four flown by 60 Squadron from Waterkloof. Re-serialled as AF-617 in July 1995 and later 1417, the aircraft was withdrawn from use by 2007 and scrapped, the nose now preserved by the SAA museum at Swartkop. Titles are in Afrikaans on the starboard side and English on the port side.

Having entered service in September 1967 with 44 Squadron at Waterkloof, 6905 became the final DC4 to be retired by the SAAF. Sold to the South African Airways Historic Flight in December 1995, shortly after this photo was taken. Registered ZS-AUB the aircraft went on to fly with Swissair as HB-ILI/ZU-ILI to celebrate their 50th anniversary as well as making several long haul trips including Oshkosh and Fairford. Later transferred to the SAA Museum Society and operated by Skyclass on safari charters until retired in 2018. Currently on display in the SAA museum at Rand

One of eight Transalls stored at Waterkloof following their withdrawal from service in 1993. They remained in storage until sold for spares in 2008 and were scrapped in 2009. The only SAAF Transall to survive is 337 which re-located to the SAAF museum at Swartkop in 1994.

Acquired Feb 95 ex Soviet Air Force CCCP-86909. To Air Sultan Oct 96 as 9L-LBK. It went on to operate for various exoticly named operators as EP-TQC, EP-ALB, T9-CAA, T9-CAC and finally Phoenix Aviation as ST-CAC. Believed to have been broken up around 2009.

Operator Aviation Financing & Trading BV and still in the basic colours of former operator Flugleidir (as TF-FLP). To WDL Oct 96 as D-BAKG as a source for spares. Broken up April 97.

Still in basic MarkAir colours. Acquired May 1995 ex MarkAir N686MA. Before that it also operated with Air Europe G-BRKF and Inter European Airways G-IEAE. To Alaska Airlines April 1996 as N786AS. Retired and Stored September 2015.

Went on to operate for Rossiya

First flew with KLM as N4551N from Sep 84 to Feb 91 when it was the registered PH-BUV. To Orient Thai Airlines Jan 2004.

Originally G-PEEL (and later G-MANP) with Manx Airlines. Following several leases to other operators it finished up with West Atlantic and Next Jet as SE-LLO. Stored Aug 2018. Then in Dec 2019 it was reported as going to EnComm (Kenya) as 5Y-GME.

Acquired Jul 95 ex LTU D-AERM. Still in the basic LTU cols. Was N338EA with Eastern Air Lines before joining LTU. Retired Aug 2000.

Acquired Jun 94 ex American Airlines N1995. Returned to the USA (but not to American) in May 96. Believed broken up circa 1997.

Acquired April 95 ex British Airways G-BGDH. To Comair Oct 95 as ZS-NNH. Noted as stored Johannesburg Mar 2011.
