Ex N2566B, USAF 48-626, but painted as 48-622. This was the military version of the Northrop N-23 Pioneer. Twenty were built but were found to be underpowered, and were soon used as ground instruction airframes. They were sold off in 1955 to civil users, and this one went to Mexico as XA-LOU before going to the museum in the early 1990s.

The only B-10 version still in existence is this model 139WA export version sold to the Argentine Navy in 1938 (their s/n 0080), and used for training ground crews as late as the 1960s; it was last used as a ground-training tool for Argentine engineering students at the "Jorge Newberry" National School of Technical Education, No. 1, in Buenos Aires. It was acquired by the USAF museum on 21 August 1970 and is now displayed restored in the markings of a B-10 from 1934.

This replica was completed by the Air Force Museum in 2002, using some original parts and original blue-prints. First designated as MB-2 before the 1919 designation system, the NBS-1 flew for the first time on 3 Sep 1920. The NBS-1 had unique folding wings to enable it to be parked in smaller hangars. It was powered by two 420 hp V-12 Liberty engines mounted on the lower wing. Armament consisted of five .30 cal. machine guns and 2000 lbs of bombs.

When the US Air Force visited Avro Canada in 1953 to look at the all weather CF-100 fighter, a "special projects group" showed them plans for a circular disk-shaped aircraft known as Project Y-2. The USAF agreed to fund the project that resulted in two Avrocar test vehicles. Control problems with the aircraft out of ground effect couldn't be overcome and the project was cancelled in 1961. Pictured is the first Avrocar (58-7055 ) that went to the Air Force. The second (59-4975) is in the collection of the US Army Aviation Museum.
