Preserved at the then entrance of Kabul International Airport, this Su-22M-4 Fitter of the Afghanistan Air Force. Check how the roundel on the tail is incorrectly levelled with the horizon, but maybe correct in its preserved condition.
There seems to be some confusion about this Fitter-K. A different Su-22M4 '2544' (cn 31406, formerly '798' of the NVA) from MFG-28 'Paul Wieczorek' at Laage was painted in 1990 into the state blue/yellow/red colours of Meclenburg-Vorpommern to mark the last ever flight of a Fitter in German service. That aircraft is preserved at Berlin-Gatow. This Fitter-K is in reality formerly '2520' of the GAF and '704' of the NVA.
