After use by the East German AF this Mi-2 was transferred to the Police. It was never taken on charge though and was tranferred to the Polizeisportverein in Dessau. Thereafter it went to the museum in Hermeskeil and ended up in the Wernigerode museum.
This rare bird moved from Oberschleissheim to Wernigerode, Saxony-Anhalt. Unfortunately it's just as difficult to photograph here. The surprising size of Kurt Tank's Indian jet fighter doesn't help - it's almost 16 m (52 ft) long.
This is one of the oldest, and one of the newest F-104Gs at the same time. It was built by Lockheed in 1961. Airlifted to Germany, it never flew again but served as an instructional airframe, and only has 19 hours in the air!
