The Mini-500 was a 1990s single-seat light helicopter, designed and built by Revolution Helicopter Corp as a kit for homebuilding with a Rotax engine and resembling a scaled down Hughes 500. The aircraft quickly developed a poor safety reputation, curtailing kit sales. Rotax even stated in their manual that the engine was not a certificated aircraft design and that it was subject to subject to sudden stoppage, resulting in crash landings, forced landings or no power landings!
