A rare exhibit in this museum is an example of Kurt Tank's HF-24 design for India. The cost and lack of capability of the 147 Maruts built compared to contemporary aircraft were often criticised, although it acquitted itself relatively well in the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971. All were withdrawn in the 1980s and 10 have been preserved. This example was previously in the hands of the Deutsches Museum Flugwerft at Schleissheim near Munich This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
