The Fleetster was designed for use within South America by NYRBA Line, a forgotten competitor to Pan Am in which Consolidated's Reuben Fleet held an interest. The Fleetster would fly through the night with evening mail to catch up with the diurnal NYRBA flying boat at its night stop. Pan Am's powerful backers deprived NYRBA of a US Post Office contract. In 1961 Mr. Floyd Hungerford of Elmira, NY donated a JN-4D fuselage (unknown MSN), engine(s) and other JN-4 pieces to the Curtiss Museum. Over time, museum volunteers were able to restore the a/c and it is now on display in WW 1 era US Army Air Service markings.

This is a replica of the Curtiss June Bug built by the Mercury Aircraft Co. of Hammondsport, NY in 1976. It flew multiple times, and still has a current FAA registration. On loan to the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum. The original June Bug flew in 1908, and was the first a/c with ailerons and tricycle landing gear. The first aeronautical prize, the Scientific American Cup, was won by the June Bug on 4 July 1908. The cup (and $25,000!) was awarded for accomplishing the first public flight over 1 kilometre (.61 mi.)

The Mercury S-1 was designed by Harvey Mummert, Chief Engineer of Mercury Aircraft Corp. located in Hammondsport, NY, in 1931. It was raced in the 1932 Chicago Air Races, placing third in the Free-For-All Edelweiss Trophy Race with a speed of 139.8 mph. Mr. Lawrence Wood restored it in 1980, flown once, and put on long term loan to the museum by the Wood Family. FAA registration expired in 2013.
